WELCOME ABOARD THE SANLORENZO SL106
the first thing you may notice as you step on board this yacht is that it takes full advantage of her 7.05 m (23.1 ft) beam. What’s more, you may notice how there’s no space wasted on tenders or intrusive equipment such as dinghy cranes.
The reason for this is because the tender and jetski are conveniently stored out of sight in the stern dinghy garage. Not only does this leave the cockpit uncluttered for entertaining, but it leaves the flybridge open too. As a result, there’s plenty of space to spread out, enjoy cocktails, and alfresco dining at the two rising tables.
And as for alfresco dining, there are many opportunities to do so throughout the yacht, and that’s because, “Being connected to the sea and nature is a key building block of the Sanlorenzo DNA and therefore the yard strives to maximise opportunities for al fresco living in all of its designs,” notes Boat International Magazine. And this “Sanlorenzo DNA” — or shall we say, philosophy — can be experienced in the bow, the flybridge and the saloon…
From the cockpit into the spacious saloon, the focal point is the long path connecting the saloon lounge to the main deck master stateroom.
this feature “creates a strong spatial continuity permitting an immediate and full perception of the yacht length, from stern to bow, and achieving a depth of field very unusual for yachts of similar size,” says sanlorenzo s.p.a.
Large windows fill the saloon with natural light and visually make it look even more spacious. The wide port side sliding door (near the glass dining table for 8) opens to the sea and sea breezes — creating another alfresco dining opportunity and enlargement of the saloon.
Moreover, many mirrors throughout the saloon — including a ceiling mirror that stretches almost the entire port side — catch extra light and reflect views of the sea throughout the interior. Combined, these elements allow you to enjoy the sea, breezes, and sun while enjoying great comfort and luxury indoors.
As for the saloon’s furniture and materials, it’s been carefully selected from the catalogues of the most prestigious brands of italian and international design. A large l-shaped couch wraps around a dark designer coffee table, while a glass dining table for 8 is set against a bulkhead clad in copper finishings and a mirror. and the stylish design of the bulkhead brings in more light and creates a sensation of more space. The remaining walls of the saloon “show off Italian craftsmanship with high-gloss lacquer or hand-stitched leathers” adds Chris Caswell, Yachts International Magazine.
Now, you know that feeling when you first arrive at home after a long trip? Well, that’s the same feeling you may experience when you step inside the saloon of this SL106 for the first time too.
Ultimately, the carefully selected fabrics, contemporary decor, accent pieces, wood, lacquer, leather, and brilliant placement of mirrors and light furnishings fuse luxury with a casual ambiance which makes the space really light up. And this is a delightful effect which carries into the owner’s stateroom situated forward on the main deck.
As you enter the master stateroom, you’ll pass the wide walk-in closet.
a closet which, is fair to say, is the size of a guest cabin on many yachts. The port-side ceiling mirror, which runs from saloon to the master, extends into the walk-in closet and culminates in a big floor-to-ceiling mirror. There’s more than enough room to bring all of the clothes you need to spend weeks onboard and at sea.
Beyond the closet, you continue through a wide passageway flanked to your right by a desk, embellished in hand-stitched leathers, and to your left, a combination and continuation of high-gloss lacquer cabinetry, mirrors, white paneling, and expansive windows which bring more light into the master. At the center of the stateroom, you’re encircled by panoramic views of the sea and sky from four different directions: to port, to fore, to starboard and to the skies above through three optional electrical skylights.
And with a press of a button, sliding panels on the port and starboard windows, which Sanlorenzo calls “eyelids,” slide down to offer even greater views from the stateroom. With such expansive views, one can only imagine how great you’ll feel within this scenic stateroom.
To the starboard side, you’ll find a generous ensuite composed of an enclosed head, walk-in shower and his & her’s washbasins. Marble is generously used throughout the entire ensuite: in the sinks, flooring, shower, and walls. And the marble’s affect is heightened by the natural light pouring through the large window. Overall, the whole master stateroom is bright, large, picturesque, and inviting.
Take the winding back-lit staircase below deck and you’ll discover four sumptuous staterooms that can accommodate up to 9 guests overnight. The guest cabins are nearly equal in size and similarly setup with large opening windows, closets, large televisions, and extra storage contained within more high-gloss lacquer cabinetry. for more convenience, all staterooms have ensuite heads composed of ample amounts of marble and glass. Moreover, you’ll love the fore most starboard cabin because it offers a multi-functional configuration. It has a desk, sofa, multi-media setup, and sleeping room for three provided by two additional pullmans. This may be the perfect office area, kids area, below deck entertainment area, or extra room for whatever you desire.
As for climate control, avant-garde technology is found throughout the yacht. For instance, underneath the numerous diamond black crystal surfaces (found throughout the yacht) are the Vimar climate automation controls. These devices can be used to create the perfect atmosphere for you and your guests. Guests in each stateroom can set the temperature they desire. As well, lighting can be set to soft or bright. And an electrical curtain and full blackout system can be used to let in all the natural light you want or block it out, completely.
According to sanlorenzo, as yachts get bigger their connection with the sea often diminishes. And for that reason, the very wide, swim platform design of the sl106 ensures that this doesn’t happen. the swim platform can raise and lower to your desired level. This is advantageous to you for two reasons. First, it allows owners and guests to relax by the sea and easily enjoy a quick dip. Second, it allows you to effortlessly launch and enjoy a wide range of water toys. And with the hydraulic platform submerged, the transom opens to a large garage housing an array of different toys and your equipment of choice for exploring the sea:
This SL106 holds a Williams Jet Tender, which, as Williams claims, “Getting from ship to shore has never been more stylish, or more fun.”Second, there’s five Seabobs — high-end underwater scooters designed to, “Move through the water with the agility of a dolphin”. “Save the bridge deck for last, because it will take your breath away”writes chris caswell of yachts international magazine.
stretching endlessly on one level, the flybridge provides a great deal of entertainment and relaxation space. To the fore, the flybridge has a hard-top bimini which provides welcome shade for all your guests. And under the shade of the bimini you’ll find, on your starboard side, a large 8 seater dining table. And to the port side is a centrally concealed Boffi wetbar. This outdoor cooking and entertaining unit stretches the length of the dining table. In addition, it has a sliding top so it can serve as both a bar or buffet. Underneath, the wetbar has everything essential for entertaining, cooking and grilling.
Also under the hard-top is the flybridge helm offset to starboard. And accompanying this helm is a triple-wide seat to starboard and port.
Now, the flybridge isn’t entirely under the cover of the bimini. To the aft, there are three limited edition loose chaise lounges, and wrap-around seating — capable of comfortably seating five, six, seven or more guests — plus ample room for numerous deck chairs and extra standing space abounds.
Again, this endlessly stretching flybridge just may take your breath away.
One of the reasons why this SL106 is so accommodating is due to the addition of the 5th cabin below deck. It functions like a convertible entertainment room. Because it contains a sofa, a fold-out desk, a multi-media entertainment system, three bedroom configuration with two extra pullman beds.
What’s more, all cabins have been additionally equipped with a VIMAR Dimmer and Atmospheric Light Control Package. And from these controls, you can raise and lower the curtains to the desired light level with full blackout option. Having said that your favorite additional option just may be the three electrically operated skylights above the master stateroom bed.
As for the crew arrangement, the owner opted for an additional crew cabin (with additional head) and private passageway.
As per the owner’s request, this SL106 comes with the most powerful engine package available: Two MTU 16V2000 M96L engines which produce a combined 5,274 horse power. Moreover, the fuel capacity comes with 12,400 litres which will give you a long-range capacity of 1,250 nautical miles at 10 knots.
As for comfort, entertainment, and design, no expense was spared. And this can be seen on the “endlessly stretching” flybridge with extra teak. Due to the ingenious arrangement of the dining table and Boffi wetbar, which are aligned from stern to prow, the flybridge has a strong sense of spatial continuation from aft to bow. This arrangement is not common on other SL106s, since they arrange their wetbar and dining table from port to starboard.
As for the centrally concealed Boffi wetbar, it is a single, stand-alone mono-block that contains all the necessary elements for both cooking and entertaining. It’s graceful and contemporary and it unfolds to reveal a modern and high spec state-of-the-art cooking system.
As for seating, there’s the Paola Lenti™’s Cove Collection to the rear of flybridge. This collection consists of a set of three Cove sun beds with adjustable backrests, a c-shaped module Cove lounge, and hand-woven loose cushions and complements. All made of Paola Lenti™’s signature fabric.
While walking through the SL106, you can feel that the owner invested a considerable amount of time carefully selecting options that make perfect sense for the most pleasant and comfortable life and experience onboard. It seems as though every single option perfectly complements each other.
The galley was upgraded with a collection of avant-garde Miele appliances and a Gaggenau refrigerator, freezer and EB 333 oven that’s topped with an induction cooktop. It should be noted that this oven was almost entirely built by hand. And, as its name signifies, it is the result of the Gaggenau’s 333 years of German engineering.
While the main deck is loaded with additions, let us share a few with you: There’s the electrically operated high/low tables that were added to the bow and cockpit lounge area. And in the saloon, the owner opted for a port-side sliding door and an electric door to aft. As well, the saloon sofa set is by the renown Italian designers of Minotti.
Many extra technical features were incorporated into this particular SL106 to further enhance the onboard systems, performance, and experiences. They include an LED Underwater Lighting System, so she stands when moored at night. Furthermore, a Jet-Ski Hauling & Launching System has been integrated into the large aft dinghy garage. This feature makes for faster and more convenient launches.
Also, numerous other tech-upgrades include a Diamond Audio video, upgraded CCTV with dedicated monitors, fixed and motorized infra red cameras, Diamond Raymarine package (with upgraded screens) and hydraulic stern thrusters.
