Cantiere Delle Marche (CDM) is an Italian shipyard specialising in the construction of custom and semi-custom explorer yachts ranging from 26 to 47 metres in length. Founded in 2010 by seasoned industry veterans Ennio Cecchini and Vasco Buonpensiere, CDM quickly established itself as one of the leaders within the explorer yacht category. Located in Ancona on the Adriatic coast, CDM’s debut was marked by the launch of Vitadimare 3, a Darwin Class 86, in 2011. The Darwin Class, designed by Hydro Tec, has become a cornerstone of CDM’s offerings and is noted for its durability and ocean-going performance. In 2014, CDM expanded its portfolio with the Nauta Air series, designed by Mario Pedol and Massimo Gino of Nauta Design, introducing a blend of traditional explorer yacht capabilities with sleek, modern aesthetics.

Luxury & Innovation
CDM’s commitment to innovation continued with the introduction of the Flexplorer series in 2020, starting with the 40-metre Flexplorer Aurelia. Exemplifying CDM’s philosophy of combining functionality with luxury, this series features advanced engineering and a bold design. Best known for its robust, transatlantic-capable yachts, the shipyard’s current lineup includes the Darwin Class, RJ Class, Flexplorer and the Deep Blue series. Notable models in its fleet include the most recently delivered 44.3-metre Maverick, the fully custom Project K42 Audace and the ice-class Flexplorer Aurelia. In 2023, CDM was sold via a management buyout, with Austrian firm FIL Bros Family Office acquiring 75% ownership and retaining the remaining 25%. In addition to construction, CDM’s offerings include design, engineering, and pre-owned sales, ensuring the Italian yard provides comprehensive service from conception through to delivery.
