40m Sunreef Explorer Eco

The eco-version of the 40m Explorer from Polish shipyard Sunreef, this “radical” catamaran was unveiled earlier this year. Constructed from ultralight composite, the 40m Sunreef Explorer Eco offers the same long-range capabilities as the classic 40m Sunreef Explorer but features more environmentally friendly features and amenities throughout her design. Measuring 38 metres in length with a generous 13.34-metre beam and a 1.90-metre draught, she is fitted with Sunreef Yachts’ patented solar skin technology. A flexible solar panel layer, this transforms every exterior surface into a functional power generator, producing 50kWp of power, enough energy to operate all onboard systems, from the Jacuzzi to the advanced audiovisual equipment.

Combining groundbreaking technology with transoceanic capabilities, the 40m Sunreef Explorer Eco offers silent, emission-free cruising. A multihull yacht with a shallow draught, substantial storage and expansive entertainment areas, she offers comfort and space for extended exploration across three decks. Key features onboard include an expansive main deck aft deck equipped with a launching crane, accommodating up to a 7-metre tender, two jet skis, and other water toys and a pool or Jacuzzi. A hydraulic platform transforms the main deck aft into a private beach club, while Sunreef’s proprietary solar skin ensures maximum energy efficiency. Additional custom-engineered battery banks and heat recovery systems further enhance her eco-friendly design. Her interiors include 654 square meters of customisable living space, with an upper deck dedicated to the owner’s suite, a private fold-out balcony, and the option to include a spa or even an indoor cinema. Materials selected for the interiors are also sustainably sourced, ranging from recycled fabrics, fine woods, and eco-conscious finishes.
