Сhasing the wind: epic yacht delivery from st. tropez to sardinia

We just sold the Sunseeker Predator 57 to an owner who asked us to deliver it from Saint Tropez to Sardinia. We gladly accepted this challenge and took our family with us.
The journey was one of careful weather and trip planning so that we could make our journey on the specified day. Not only did we ensure that our route was plotted with the weather in mind, but we also checked using an app called Lama. This app allowed us to plan our route and avoid any strong waves and winds that were forecasted for Tuesday.
We prepared the boat for the journey, double-checking all of the systems. After fuelling up, we set off on our journey with a five-hour navigation ahead of us. We had the autopilot set to Ajaccio in Corsica, and just off the shore, we spotted some dolphins jumping in the waves. It was an extraordinary sight!
During our journey, we were lucky enough to witness an amazing sight – dolphins jumping in the waves near the shore! This beautiful family of marine mammals made its way to the bow of our boat, prompting us to take a moment and appreciate nature and its beauty. We could see the joy as they played in the waves, creating a truly magical moment that we will never forget.
Soon after, the sun began to set over the sea, creating a mirror-flat sea and a beautiful view. During all of our trip, we were surveying the yacht, making sure she was delivered to the owner with everything working – we checked the radar, which was running after we power cycled all of the systems. We kept going until we entered the port, and prepared to put the fenders out and moor at night – another challenge we thought we had to overcome which turned into a smooth and easy ride.
The next morning, we left early to go to the fuel station, as we had calculated our fuel requirements carefully, and had 1,500 liters of fuel on board. We encountered a slight delay at the fuel station but once that was done, we continued on our way to Cavallo Island, with some remaining swell and rain on the horizon.
When we arrived at La Maddalena, we paused to have a look at the stunning rocks, before carrying on to Porto Cervo. We tied up the preparations here before setting off, as the winds were still quite strong. It was a very pretty spot to stay for the night, and the following day was nice and calm.
We departed the port the following day, as smoothly as we had arrived the night before. The yacht delivery at Portisco was a success!
Finally, we documented the entire journey in a video that we shared with our supporters. All in all, it was a difficult but rewarding journey, and we are so glad that we managed to take up the challenge and make it one to remember!
