Abeking & Rasmussen Yachts For Sale
Abeking & Rasmussen (A&R) is a leading German shipyard based in Lemwerder, near Bremen, that specialises in the construction of fully custom superyachts ranging from 40 to 125 metres in length, alongside naval, patrol, and special vessels. Founded in 1907 by Georg Abeking and Henry Rasmussen, the shipyard initially focused on constructing wooden pleasure and racing yachts before expanding into private yachts, naval, and commercial vessels. But it was not until 1973, with the launch of the 36 metre Kalamoun, the world’s fastest diesel yacht at the time with a top speed of 46 knots, that the shipyard gained international recognition.
Abeking & Rasmussen Yachts Fleet
Throughout the shipyard’s 118-year history, it has remained privately owned and family operated for three generations, maintaining its independence whilst building an international reputation for quality and innovation. Today, A&R is best known for its unwavering commitment to quality, innovation, and owner collaboration. Operating out of its vertically integrated facilities in Lemwerder, this includes five heated production sheds, a synchrolift, and specialised workshops capable of handling constructions up to 125 metres in length. The shipyard has been credited with advancements in hull technology, most notably its SWATH® (Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull) design, which improves seakeeping capabilities and manoeuvrability in rough seas. A&R’s current offering includes fully bespoke superyachts and highly specialised naval vessels, including offshore patrol boats and mine countermeasure crafts, showcasing their broad engineering capabilities. Notable examples in A&R’s global fleet include the 118m Liva°, delivered in 2023 as the shipyard’s largest superyacht to date, featuring diesel-electric hybrid propulsion, the 118m Titan, the 82m Secret, and the 60m Elandess.
