Amels, a prominent Dutch shipyard and part of the Damen Shipyards Group specialises in constructing semi-custom and fully custom superyachts ranging from 55 to 83 metres in length. Established in 1918 in Vlissingen, the shipyard has a rich history rooted in Dutch maritime tradition. Initially, Amels began building wooden fishing boats and steel tug boats before transitioning to pleasure boat and yacht construction. The launch of its first superyacht, the 48.2-metre M/Y Katalina, in 1982 marked a pivotal moment in its history. In 1991, Amels was acquired by Kommer Damen, which integrated the shipyard into the Damen family while preserving its unique identity and expertise.

The shipyard also excels in creating full custom yachts, with notable projects like the 120-metre M/Y Project Signature, the largest superyacht currently under construction in the Netherlands, slated for delivery in 2025.
