CRN Yachts
THE ITALIAN CRN YACHTS FOR SALE
Costruzioni e Riparazioni Naval Yachts, better known as CRN, is an Italian shipyard located in Ancona that specialises in the construction of fully custom composite yachts with steel hulls and aluminium superstructures. Focused on offering superyachts between 40 and 90 metres in length, each yacht design is created in-house and meticulously tailored to the owner’s specific desires and wishes. With roots dating back to the 1960s, the shipyard was founded in 1963 by Sanzio Nicolini and initially concentrated on building yachts for a select clientele. The shipyard quickly gained a reputation for innovation, producing yachts between 15 and 20 metres in the 1960s that were instantly recognisable by their distinctive designs.

Acquired by the Ferretti Group
The launch of the 23-metre M/Y Super Conero in 1968 was a significant milestone for the yard and paved the way for larger, more sophisticated vessels. The 1970s saw a partnership blossom between Sanzio Nicolini and Carlo Riva, the heir to the Riva legacy, which led to the creation of two iconic yachts: the 21.6-metre M/Y Marco Polo and the 30-metre M/Y Vespucci, which further cemented the yard’s reputation for building leading Italian pleasure yachts. In 1999, CRN was acquired by the Ferretti Group, enhancing its expertise and production capabilities. This expansion continued with the acquisition of the Mario Morini shipyard in 2002. CRN’s current fleet includes over 400 vessels, ranging from military and commercial ships to luxury superyachts. Some of CRN’s most notable yachts to date include the 62-metre M/Y Voice, the 74-metre M/Y Cloud 9, and the 79-metre M/Y Chopi Chopi. Beyond new build and construction, CRN extends its expertise to encompass design, engineering, naval architecture, refit, and conversions, delivering a comprehensive suite of services that covers every stage from initial concept to final delivery.
