Sanlorenzo’s Explorer series sought to herald a new chapter in long-range, explorer-style superyachts. First introduced to the industry with the launch of the 460EXP in 2015, the Explorer range from the Italian shipyard is designed for adventure without compromise, combining expedition-grade engineering with refined style. Measuring 47 metres in length, with a beam of 9.6 metres, a draught of 2.75 metres, these models feature reinforced steel hulls, long-range propulsion systems, and a generous beam for optimal stability and space.
Currently encompassing the model 500EXP, the Sanlorenzo Explorer features an angular exterior design by Francesco Paszkowski and contemporary interiors by Studio Indigo. Key features of her exterior styling include a towering bow, a low-slung stern, and an expansive aft deck, which can support heli-decks, tenders, or even submersibles. One of the main standout features of the 500EXP is its vast quarterdeck, which doubles as a helipad and storage zone, with a full-beam garage for a 7-metre tender and a beach club with fold-down terraces. Interiors are equally impressive, including spacious salons, floor-to-ceiling glass windows, and a forward owner’s suite on the main deck, with a dedicated lounge, private office, and his-and-her bathrooms. The upper deck includes a second salon and wheelhouse, while the sundeck offers a jacuzzi and al fresco dining. Able to accommodate up to ten guests across ten ensuite staterooms, including the owner’s suite, two VIP and two twins, she hosts a crew of nine. Powered by twin CAT C32 engines, the Sanlorenzo Explorer series 500EXP has a top speed of 15 knots.
