Founded in 1929 by Hüseyin Bey, the shipyard first began constructing wooden imperial caiques along the Bosphorus. Bilgin’s transformation began in 1957 when Mustafa Şengün expanded the business horizons, establishing the foundation for the shipyard expansion into the superyacht category. Now led by the fifth generation of the Bilgin family, the shipyard operates across more than 79,000 square metres of facilities spread across Istanbul, Yalova, Kucukcekmece, and Antalya. Its advanced production centres include in-house metal, hydraulic, stainless steel, mechanical, upholstery, and high-end marine furniture workshops, allowing Bilgin to conduct 90% of its construction in-house. As the shipyard has maintained its independence throughout its 95-year history, it has been able to preserve the family’s commitment to excellence while establishing an international reputation for quality and innovation. Bilgin’s current offering includes the Bilgin 156, 160, 163, and 170 series, alongside the flagship Bilgin 263 and the ambitious Bilgin 282 project. The Bilgin 282, at 86m and with a gross tonnage of 2,200GT, is currently under construction in Yalova and will be the largest ever built by the shipyard. Notable launches include the award-winning 80m Leona, which secured the Outstanding Exterior Design award at the 2024 Boat International Design & Innovation Awards, the 80m Tatiana, and the 80m Al Reem, all part of the Bilgin 263 series.
