The Y Class from British shipyard Princess Yachts expands on its F Class of flybridge motor yachts, offering more space, customisation options, and crew space. First introduced back in 2017 with the debut of the Y75, later succeeded by the Y72, the Y Class aims to bridge the gap between owner-operated flybridge models and fully crewed superyachts while setting new benchmarks for internal volume, comfort, and long-range capability in the 22 to 29-metre segment. The current Y Class lineup includes the entry model Y72, Y80, Y85, and flagship Y95, all designed in collaboration with Olesinski Design for exterior styling and naval architecture, with interiors by the Princess Design Studio. The general arrangement of the Y Class follows a classic yet elevated flybridge layout: a generous aft main deck leading into a single-level main deck salon with panoramic windows, formal dining forward, and a private helm position. Large flybridges function as upper decks, complete with dining areas, wet bars, and sunpads, while innovative forward cockpits provide secluded lounges underway. Hydraulic bathing platforms, tender garages, and refined material palettes further underscore the Y Class as a true mini superyacht platform engineered for long-distance cruising. Able to accommodate between eight and ten overnight guests, depending on the model, this includes full-beam master suites positioned amidships on the lower deck across most models, although the Y95 features a main deck owner’s suite with exceptional headroom and hull glazing. Powered by twin MAN or Volvo engines, these fast-planing flybridge superyachts deliver top speeds between 26 and 33 knots, depending on model.
