Factory lithium batteries with a fire bulkhead:
A 45.3 kWh lithium system, fitted when the boat was built, at a cost of around 150’000 EUR. A standard BGX leaves the yard with 20 kWh of gel batteries — the sealed lead-acid type — and only about half of that can be drawn before they need recharging. The usable capacity here is roughly four and a half times greater. In practice the air conditioning runs all night on the batteries and the generator runs about three hours a day. Safety is built in: the main computer watches cell temperature, the cells sit in two insulated stainless steel boxes with forced ventilation, and if a cell catches fire the system closes a fire bulkhead.

Major refit in Croatia from October 2025 - February 2026

The owner bought her after a survey on 29 January 2025, which priced the repairs she needed at about 170 000 euro. The work in Croatia went further, as more appeared in use. The figures come from his own records, backed by survey, estimate and payment schedule.

Main features of the refit

Superstructure laminated and painted:

The parts of the superstructure that carry load were laminated, and the whole structure was painted instead of finished in gelcoat. This matters later: paint can be repaired without the colour mismatch that makes gelcoat repairs on a coloured hull so difficult, and there is no polishing to keep up. The owner has photographs of the work.

Anchor and windglass:

A 45 kg Ultra Marine anchor with 120 m of stainless chain, replacing the standard 30 kg Bruce anchor and 80 m of galvanised chain. The heavier anchor and longer chain open up anchorages the standard set-up cannot hold in. The windlass mounting was also reinforced, doubled up and fully laminated.
