Azimut S Series
AZIMUT S SERIES
The S series from Italian shipyard Azimut is a range of high-performance sports yachts that feature sleek styling with advanced propulsion technology. First introduced in 2012, the series debuted with the 55S (discontinued) at the 2013 Cannes Yachting Festival, establishing Azimut’s pioneering approach to triple IPS pod drive configurations. Featuring an exterior design by Stefano Righini with interiors by Carlo Galeazzi, the 55S showcased diamond-shaped hull windows, vertical bow shields, and a streamlined profile inspired by automotive design. Newer models like the latest generation S7, the S10, and the latest feature an exterior design by Alberto Mancini with interiors by Francesco Guida and Yachtique. The S series showcases extensive carbon fibre usage throughout superstructures and hardtops, reducing weight by up to 30 percent whilst maintaining structural integrity. The current lineup encompasses four models measuring 18 to 28.72 metres with new spatial arrangements. Main deck configurations include open-plan salons with suspended galley islands, helm stations with Raymarine integrated touchscreen systems, and opening sunroofs spanning entire hardtop sections. Exterior spaces feature innovative foredeck walkthrough lounging areas with adjustable sunpads, cockpit dining zones with retractable tables, and aft garages accommodating 11-foot tenders. Lower deck arrangements accommodate three to four ensuite staterooms, including full-beam owner’s suites positioned amidships, whilst crew cabins occupy forward positions. The triple Volvo Penta IPS pod drive system delivers exceptional manoeuvrability via joystick controls whilst achieving 20 to 30 percent reduced fuel consumption compared to traditional shaft-drive yachts, and top speeds of 32 to 38 knots.
