Yacht Deals Monaco: the secret we kept for a year

A year is a long time to keep your mouth shut about something this good. That is exactly what we have been doing. Our founder, Cornelius Kistler, is part of a new Disney+ series set in Monaco, and until now we could not say a word about it. The wait is over. Meet Yacht Deals Monaco.

What the series is?

Yacht Deals Monaco drops eight ambitious candidates into the superyacht world and asks them to prove they belong. Over seven episodes, shot across Monaco and the French Riviera, they take on the actual work of yacht brokerage in front of clients who expect a great deal and miss nothing. It premieres on Disney+ on September 30th, with all seven episodes landing at once.

Our founder, Cornelius Kistler, leads the candidates through the series and ultimately decides who has what it takes to become a broker at breezeYachting.swiss. Drawing on more than twenty years in the industry, he puts them through the realities of the job and judges how they handle the clients, the pressure and the uncertainty that come with it. Yacht consultant Marcela de Kern Royer joins him throughout the series, bringing another perspective from across the industry.

The series is a LEONINE Documentaries production, and it’s described as the first European yacht brokerage show. It opens a door that has stayed shut for a very long time and provides a glimpse into a world few have ever seen.

Why we are glad to be part of it

Yachting keeps itself closed off. It gets talked about in a language only insiders follow, which leaves a lot of people at a distance. Kistler has built his name on changing that and demystifying the yachting industry. His videos break down how the business actually works, assessing people, the processes, negotiations, the way a deal comes together, and they give our clients a clearer view while letting the public in on a world they rarely get to see. Now, through Disney+, we can bring that side of the industry to a much wider audience.

Behind the scenes

From the outside, yachting looks like sunshine, champagne and a good tan. The series does not stop at the surface. It puts the candidates in front of the parts of the job that never gets shown or talked about, and it highlights the difference between someone who can talk a good game and someone you would actually trust with a client.

When and where to watch

All seven episodes of Yacht Deals Monaco arrive on Disney+ on September 30th, released together. You can watch the whole thing in one sitting, which we suspect a few of you will.

What does a yacht broker actually do?

A broker represents clients buying, selling or chartering yachts. The work covers valuing and marketing vessels, sourcing the right yacht for a buyer, running viewings and sea trials, negotiating terms, and steering the legal and technical process through to closing. Underneath all of it sits judgement and discretion, which are the parts you cannot teach in a weekend.

How do I get into yacht brokerage?

There is no single route in. Most people arrive with transferable skills from another demanding, client led field and build real product knowledge from there. If you think you have what the candidates are showing on screen, we are always interested in hearing from serious people.
