Project Setteesettanta: Heesen’s New 57m Custom Yacht
YN 20857 takes to the water in Oss, the second Heesen for her returning owners
Heesen has launched Project Setteesettanta, a 57-metre full-custom motor yacht, from its yard in Oss, the Netherlands. Built in aluminium and measuring 920 GT, YN 20857 is the second Heesen for her owners, who came back to the yard with a clear brief for how they want to spend their time at sea.
A REPEAT COMMISSION, BUILT TO A SPECIFIC BRIEF
Project Setteesettanta was first announced in December 2022, with hull testing carried out at the University of Southampton’s Wolfson Unit in early 2023 and the keel laid in December 2023. Her owners had already been through a Heesen build once before and returned knowing the yard and knowing what they wanted. The result is shaped around practical decisions: a shallow 2.3-metre draft to reach anchorages that larger yachts cannot, open outdoor areas, and a layout that favours long stays at anchor. The name translates from Italian as seven and seventy.

A FOUR-DECK LAYOUT WITH A PRIVATE OWNERS’ DECK
The yacht sleeps 12 guests across six staterooms and carries 13 crew. The owners have the full upper deck. The master stateroom sits forward with 180-degree views and opens onto a private terrace of close to 200 square metres, which also works as a touch-and-go helipad. A VIP cabin is positioned forward on the main deck next to a gym, and four more staterooms, two twin and two double, are on the lower deck. An oval staircase runs through all four decks. Main deck dining sits aft and opens to the aft terrace through wide sliding doors. At the stern, a double staircase curves around a four-metre infinity pool and down to the swim platform.

A FIRST FOR THE HEESEN FLEET
YN 20857 is the first Heesen to place its bridge on the fourth deck. That choice gives the owners an observation deck above the accommodation while keeping the profile low, helped by a light mast from Frank Laupman of Omega Architects and flat Starlink panels in place of traditional domes. Exterior design is by Omega Architects, interior by Cristiano Gatto Design, and naval architecture by Van Oossanen Naval Architects. Cristiano Gatto also advised the owners throughout construction. The interior joinery was built in-house at Heesen’s facility in Winterswijk, with marble the owners selected in Verona.

PERFORMANCE AND RANGE
Two MTU 16V2000M72 engines, each rated at 1,440 kW, give a top speed of 18 knots and a transatlantic range of 3,900 nautical miles at 12 knots. Quantum stabilisers manage motion at anchor and under way.
NEXT STEPS
The yacht stays in Oss for systems commissioning before sea trials in the North Sea later this summer. Delivery is scheduled for the end of December 2026.
